RYA START SAILING STAGE 1
Learn the real basics of sailing in Optimists and Picos. Within a few hours young children will have the confidence to enjoy their gorgeous surroundings. Getting wet always seems to be on the cards!

                                                                                        

                                                                                       RYA START SAILING 2 & 3
                                                          Continuing to build on the basic skills with                                                                               instructors in close attendence. Young sailors                                                                              at the end of a stage 2 course are capable in                                                                               light winds to helm and crew effectively. A                                                                               Stage 3 junior sailor is a competent young                                                                               dinghy sailor able to rig, sail a triangle and                                                                               understand the basic rules of the road without                                                                                  assistance.

 

RYA ADVANCED SAILING RED, WHITE & BLUE
These courses develop young sailors techniques in different classes of dinghies including the use of asymetric and symetrical spinnakers.  Advanced seamanship skills and the ability too sail in stronger winds are learnt, together with basic navigation.

 

RYA RACING RED
Self preparation, boat preparation, boat tuning and
handling. Race strategy is all covered, including
looking at the starting line and procedures, the
favoured end and starting techniques.
